Terms of use
These terms keep Masjid Market simple and fair for everyone. They are written to be read, not skimmed past — if anything is unclear, email support@masjidmarket.60apps.com and a person will answer.
1. What Masjid Market is
Masjid Market is a local marketplace where neighbours sell second-hand items and 100% of the sale price goes to a mosque the seller chooses. Masjid Market provides the listings, messaging and payment plumbing. The items belong to the sellers, not to us and not to the mosque.
2. Every sale is a private sale
Each sale is a private sale between two individuals — the seller and the buyer. We are not the seller, and the mosque is not the seller. The seller directs the cash proceeds of the sale as a voluntary gift (sadaqah) to the mosque they chose. Masjid Market acts as a payment facilitator using Stripe, our payment processor.
3. Paying
You pay the full price at checkout — that is the only way to pay on Masjid Market. Your payment is processed by Stripe and held safely until pickup is confirmed; Masjid Market never holds your money itself. At checkout you can add a small optional top-up that covers the card processor's fee so the mosque receives the full sale price. That top-up pays the card processor — it is not a gift to the mosque.
4. Pickup
Items are picked up in person. The buyer receives a pickup code and enters it at handover; that confirmation is the moment the money is released to the mosque. If pickup doesn't happen within 14 days, the buyer is automatically refunded in full, including any top-up. Inspect the item at pickup, before you confirm with the code — confirming tells us the sale is complete.
5. Proceeds and receipts
Proceeds are forwarded to the mosque. Any receipt is between you and the mosque. Masjid Market does not issue tax receipts.
6. What can't be listed
Some items can never be listed and some need a quick check first — the full list, with plain examples, is on What can't be listed. Listings that break those rules are removed.
7. How to behave
The community guidelines are part of these terms. Repeated or serious problems lead to warnings, and then to suspension.
8. Your identity
You can browse without any account. To sell or buy you verify a phone number — that's it. The mosque a seller supports receives the seller's name and partial phone number for its own records. See the privacy page for the full picture.
9. Problems and refunds
If something goes wrong — the item isn't as described, the seller doesn't show, the buyer doesn't show — tell us. While a sale is unconfirmed the money is still held safely, so most problems end in a straightforward refund. Our money page explains every step in plain language.
10. Our role and responsibility
Items are sold as-is between individuals. We don't inspect items and can't guarantee their condition — that's what the pickup moment is for. To the extent the law allows, Masjid Market's responsibility is limited to the services we actually provide: the platform and the payment facilitation described above.
11. Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Masjid Market after a change means the new terms apply.
