Privacy
Masjid Market collects as little as it can get away with. Here is all of it, in plain language.
What we collect
- A phone number — verifying it is how selling and buying work. No password, no username.
- An email address, only if you add one — used to keep your listings if you change phones, and for the messages you ask for.
- Your listings and photos — what you choose to publish.
- An approximate pickup area — buyers see a rough circle on a map, never your exact address. Your address is never requested and never shown.
- Messages between buyers and sellers — stored so both sides have the conversation, and reviewed only if someone reports a problem.
- Basic technical information — the kind every website receives (device type, rough region), used to keep the service working and to spot abuse.
What we never see
Your card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. Card numbers never touch Masjid Market's servers, and we cannot see them.
What the mosque receives
The mosque a seller supports receives the seller's name, partial phone number and a record of the amounts given, for its own records. Buyers are not identified to the mosque.
Who else touches your information
Only the companies that make the service run: payment processing (Stripe), hosting and databases, text-message delivery and email delivery. Each receives only what its job requires. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there are no ads.
How long we keep things
Listings you delete disappear from the marketplace right away. If you ask us to delete your identity, we do — records of completed sales and amounts forwarded to mosques are kept, without your public profile, because the mosque's books and ours have to stay accurate.
Where your information lives
Our databases are hosted in Canada wherever the provider supports it.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off any time.
- Add or remove your email any time.

Children
Masjid Market is for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so here and update the date at the top.
