How the money moves
No fine print here — this is the entire journey of a payment on Masjid Market, start to finish.
1. You pay the full price at checkout
That is the only way to pay on Masjid Market. Payments are processed by Stripe, the same payment company behind millions of businesses.
2. The money is held safely
Masjid Market never holds your money. Stripe holds it while the sale finishes — neither the seller, nor the mosque, nor we can spend it during that time.
3. Pickup confirms the sale
At handover the buyer enters a pickup code. That moment — not before — the money is released to the mosque's own account. 100% of the sale price goes to the mosque the seller chose.
4. The optional top-up
Card processing costs a small fee. At checkout, buyers can add a top-up that covers it, so the mosque receives the full sale price. The top-up pays the card processor — it is not a gift to the mosque, and it appears separately at checkout before you pay.
5. If pickup doesn't happen
No pickup within 14 days means the buyer is automatically refunded in full, including any top-up. Nobody has to chase anyone.
6. Refunds and problems
Until the pickup code is entered, the money is still held safely — so if the item isn't as described or the meetup falls through, the fix is usually a simple full refund. If something goes wrong after release, contact us and a person will sort it out: support@masjidmarket.60apps.com.
7. If a bank reverses a payment
Occasionally a card company claws a payment back after the fact. When that happens we recover the amount from the sale it belongs to; it is handled between us, Stripe and the mosque — sellers and buyers aren't chased for it.
8. Receipts
Proceeds are forwarded to the mosque. Any receipt is between you and the mosque. Masjid Market does not issue tax receipts.
9. What this is, religiously speaking
The seller's proceeds are sadaqah — a voluntary gift the seller directs to the mosque. The buyer's purchase is a purchase: they received something real and bought generously. And to a common question: proceeds are voluntary charity (sadaqah), not zakat.
10. On your card statement
Purchases appear as MASJIDMKT on your card statement.
